Our favourite excursion destinations in Zell am See-Kaprun – just for you! There is so much to do in and around Kaprun that we can't possibly list everything here; it's best to just ask us directly. To give you a little taste, however, we have a few recommendations that always work for you – are you ready?

Kaprun High Mountain Reservoirs
You shouldn’t visit Kaprun without seeing the High Mountain Reservoirs! Why, you ask? Because it’s breathtaking – it’s that simple. The day begins with your way up, using Europe’s largest open inclined lift and the world’s largest rail vehicle – the Lärchenwand inclined lift. It carries you 400 metres of vertical gain up the mountain. Up there, you can book a guided tour to learn everything about the reservoirs or admire them from high above climbing the via-ferrata.
Let’s visit Europe’s largest waterfalls – the Krimml Waterfalls
Dropping 380 metres into the deep, the Krimml Waterfalls are among the most impressive natural spectacles in the world and the largest waterfall in Europe. The rainbow drawn by the water in the foreground and the fairytale-like mountains in the back – it’s almost too beautiful to be true!
Wildlife and Adventure Park Ferleiten
At the Ferlein Wildlife and Adventure Park, you can admire more than 200 species of wild animals from the Alps and all over the world with your entire family. Just 30 minutes by car from Hotel Martini in Kaprun, you and your family can marvel at a wildlife enclosure and look at bears, wolves and lynx. If that doesn’t excite you yet, make sure to visit the petting zoo.
