Skiing in the Zell am See – Kaprun region

Skiing

Turn off your worries, take turns on the slope, instead.

Where to find us in winter if we are currently not at Hotel Martini? Of course, on and off the slope with ski and snowboard. Because it’s fun. Because it’s so easy to leave your worries behind in this winter wonderland. Mountain love is true love.

Ski resorts in the Kaprun region

In the Zell am See-Kaprun region, 3 ski areas with a total of 408 kilometres of pistes are just waiting for you to enjoy them. Pack your skiing gear, hop on the ski bus and off you go onto the prepared slopes or into the backland powder. It doesn't matter whether you want to beat Marcel Hirscher’s personal bests or just want to enjoy some relaxed skiing with the whole family – everyone will find what they’re looking for!

Sepp’s recommendation for a family ski holiday:

skiing at the Schmittenhöhe ski resort

The Schmittenhöhe ski resort is perfect for families and it’s located just 20 minutes from Hotel Martini. It offers 77 kilometres of prepared slopes that also offer plenty of fun for beginners. Additionally, you can enjoy around 30 3,000 metres high peaks surrounding the Kaprun–Zell am See region and view down on Lake Zell from above.

Families can also go and explore Schmidolin’s adventure world, Children’s paradise and Kids slope. Here, future skiing champions can make their first turns on skis with no problems and lots of fun.

Skiing joy for everybody:

Kitzsteinhorn ski resort

You don’t even need to spend more than 5 minutes in your car to reach a ski resort that has it all. Depending on the snow, you can start your skiing adventure on 61 kilometres of pistes in October or November. You are a true adrenaline junky? Display your skill on your way down the ‘Black Mamba’ slope which reaches a maximum gradient of 63 %. Alternatively, you can show off your skill in one of 4 snow parks or 5 freeride powder slopes. You long for this special ‘wow’-effect? Take the 3K K-onnection cable car up to the summit of the Kitzsteinhorn mountain and enjoy the breathtaking view. You really need to see this!

Ski touring in the Kaprun region

You’re looking back down the line you drew on the way up through the untouched powder snow. Out of breath, a big smile and snow on your face. There is no better feeling. The Kaprun region offers plenty of ski touring options of varying difficulty – of course, depending on snow and avalanche situation. We won’t even try to name them all but please feel free to always ask us for recommendations on your skiing holiday in Kaprun. We’ll tell you about our favourite powder runs. You can also attend weekly Freeride Mondays or book a workshop in one of the local ski schools to gather inspiration and know-how. Are you ready for the powder fun?
