Hiking in the
Zell am See-Kaprun region

Hiking

Let’s go to the mountains

If the sun bathes the rugged mountain peaks in its light and the small waves in Lake Zell are sparkling bright, there is only one thing to do: Get out into nature and up the mountains.

Lace up your hiking boots and dive straight into the adventure. Across lush green alpine meadows, over rugged rocks, Lake Zell is always visible down in the valley, always heading for the summit cross.

A laid-back hike in Kaprun:

Hiking around the Klammsee Reservoir

An hour-long walk around the Klammsee reservoir – for yourself, your dog or with your whole family (children won’t only like the playground but the many highlights to explore along the path, too). Located a few minutes away from Hotel Martini Kaprun, this hike is the ideal choice to enjoy nature or take a refreshing swim on hot summer days. If you want to see even more, we strongly recommend visiting the Sigmund Thun Gorge.

Family hikes in Kaprun:

The Mystical Forest

A fascinating hike that offers a lot to explore for young and adult hikers. The day begins with a trip up the mountain with the Sonnkogelbahn cable car. After enjoying the view at the top, we follow the path that leads us slightly downhill through the Mystical Forest. Here, kids can read about the exciting local myths along the path. In the end, you are rewarded not only with a nice meal at the Schmiedhofalm mountain restaurant but with an adventure playground, too. What else could you possibly wish for?

Recommended hikes for fit and experienced hikers: Following the Alexander Enzinger Trail from Kitzsteinhorn to Maiskogel mountain

Hiking on the trail, you will reach for the sky. Quite literally even as you are starting your hike above 2 400m of altitude at the Alpincenter Kitzsteinhorn. This is the hike along the Alexander Enzinger Trail to Maiskogel mountain, offering exceptional panoramic views in the meantime. Once you reach your destination, you can quickly descend towards the valley using the cable car and find yourself relaxing in your hammock in Hotel Martini 20 minutes later.
